Professional Engineer, Structural Engineering (Waltham)

SGH is a national engineering firm seeking a Professional Engineer in Structural Engineering to help grow their practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural analysis, investigation, and design, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural analysis, investigation, and design of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood-frame structures.
• Master of Science or Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering.
• Structural Engineering (16-hour structural exam) license required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in writing and editing of project specifications, technical reports, field reports, project correspondence, and proposals.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience with computer analysis software, such as SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, RAM, and SAFE.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, and material design standards produced by AISC, ACI, TMS, and NDS.
• Proficiency in drawing preparation using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in software used for engineering computations, including Mathcad and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to travel to out-of-state projects on occasion and ability to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
