The Department of Art at Skidmore College invites applications for a tenure track appointment in Painting at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach 18 credits per academic year in Painting and Drawing Area, contribute to interdisciplinary offerings, and develop a coherent artistic stream with a vigorous research agenda.
Requirements
- A minimum of an MFA degree in Painting
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level with a minimum two-years college level teaching beyond the Teaching Assistant level
- Active record of recognized professional activity and creative research
- Experience teaching intermediate and advanced levels along with knowledge of discourses around contemporary art, art history and painting
- Ability to work with students across art disciplines with a broad interest in the liberal arts
