Helper, Stranding

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a Helper, Stranding to assist in the operation of high speed stranding equipment to produce stranded cable on specified packages. The ideal candidate will be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety, quality, speed, and scrap.

Requirements

• Help/operate high speed strander with metering equipment, take up capstans, take up winding unit and payoff unit;
• Portable welder unit, grease and blasting cabinets where applicable;
• Using overhead cranes/loaders, various size wooden or steel reels, various size closing blocks and dies, micrometers, portable power back saw, strong adhesive tape, bolt cutters, pneumatic nail guns, fork truck, and miscellaneous small hand tools;
• Sweep entire work area and return tools and other materials to the proper storage areas;
• Aid maintenance personnel with repairs to strander or auxiliary equipment;
• Aids maintenance personnel with gear changes;
• May be required to help with bobbin stripping or cable rewinding operation or to sweep up or clean specified areas in the plant;
