Job Description
Spotify is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to focus on recommender systems modeling, particularly at the intersection of generative recommenders and foundational understanding of user taste. The role involves defining and executing the ML technical strategy for Search, building next-generation recommendation systems, and collaborating with a cross-functional team. The goal is to enhance user discovery and connection with music, podcasts, audiobooks and videos.
Requirements
- Strong background in machine learning and recommender systems
- Hands-on experience training and operating transformer models
- Production experience developing large-scale ML systems in Java, Scala, Python, or similar
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and leading impactful projects
- Systems thinking and strong communication skills
- Experience with Agile processes and data-driven development
