Sprout Social is looking for a Data Scientist with strong BI and metrics experience to help shape how data informs strategy, innovation, and customer impact across the company. The role involves partnering with marketing, finance, product, operations, and customer success to tackle business questions, defining metrics, creating clarity, and helping business partners make better decisions.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a data science or analytics role, collaborating with business stakeholders
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing large, complex datasets
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and statistical modeling
- Expertise in one or more modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) for dashboard design and self-service analytics
- Strong communication skills with the ability to turn complex analysis into compelling stories
- Experience defining and driving adoption of business metrics and KPIs
- Ability to scope ambiguous questions into clear, actionable analyses
- Familiarity with cloud data environments such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Exposure to modern data stack tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, data catalogs) — strong partnership with Data Engineering expected
