Job Description
The Behavior Interventionist has a key role in improving our school culture and developing student agency. The Behavior Interventionist provides direct support to students with behavioral challenges through behavior management techniques, intervention strategies, coping skills, reinforcing SEL, and implementing restorative practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an urban environment
- Expert knowledge of function-based intervention planning for developing behavior change strategies
- Skilled at completing effective Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), function-based interventions, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Expert knowledge in the use of data to inform plans for students
- Ability to perform verbal de-escalation
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed learner who solicits and implements feedback to improve outcomes and achieve objectives
