StaffVengers is seeking experienced candidates to fill a Teacher Assistant position in the Metropolitan area. The ideal candidate will assist the teacher in promoting a healthy educational environment for children and provide support to the classroom teacher and children.
Requirements
- Collaborate with the teacher regarding the child’s progress, interest levels, and social development.
- Follow goals and strategies identified by the Individual Education Program (IEP) or therapist for children with disabilities.
- Participate in the development and organization of appropriate instructional materials.
- Work with small groups and individuals at the teacher’s request and records observations of students in accordance with center curriculum
- Assist teacher in the maintenance of documentation for each student, as required.
- Assist teacher by performing daily classroom activities such as: checking student’s backpacks, preparing table activities, assisting in the bathroom and cleaning the classroom.
- Participate in student intake, curriculum development, staffing and interdisciplinary team meetings, as requested.
- Collaborate with teacher on classroom issues and supports the teacher with parent communications.
