The Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Financial Services Division and lead key accounting and financial reporting functions that support our mission to transform Oregon’s youth.
Requirements
- Lead the agency’s fiscal year-end accounting and reporting processes — including preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA), and government bond reporting — ensuring compliance with GAAP, GASB, and DAS accounting standards.
- Oversee and review the work of professional accounting staff, providing expert guidance, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining conformance with applicable rules, regulations, and accounting principles.
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain the agency’s financial reports and accounting structures, including general ledger, subsidiary systems, and classification frameworks for complex automated accounting systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with the Oregon Accounting Manual, state and federal laws, and audit requirements.
