Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Designer II and contribute actively to the development of innovative mechanical solutions in the medical devices field.
Requirements
- Apply internal procedures and external quality standards.
- Select or design parts or sub-assemblies using computer-aided design (CAD).
- Lead or participate in investigation and problem-solving activities.
- Obtain technical specifications for parts from suppliers and ensure their compliance with STERIS requirements.
- Create various technical drawings: parts, sub-assemblies, plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, shop plans, manufacturing plans, assembly plans, service plans, and illustrations.
- Design a portion of the system under the supervision of an engineer.
- Enter or provide required information in MRP and PLM systems: creation of parts, nomenclatures, technical modification requests, etc.
- Manufacture all components of a prototype (doors, pumps, reservoirs, cabinets, plumbing, pneumatic) and perform necessary adjustments in accordance with verbal or written directives.
- Contribute to departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) principles.
