Job Description
STRATTEC Security Corporation is looking for a Mechanical Product Engineer 4 to support multiple engineers on multiple projects, coach and train other product engineers, and lead product strategy activities. The ideal candidate will have a team-oriented attitude, multidiscipline background, and passion for innovation.

- Ability to design and engineer electro-mechanical systems
- Conceptualize, plan and develop small electro-mechanical devices and mechanisms
- Perform strength of material and static force calculations
- Design springs and perform spring force/stress calculations
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Mechanical aptitude to work with tools in tearing down product assemblies
- Ability to multi-task, plan and organize work efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team and communicate ideas
- Present engineering data and progress directly to customers
- Self-sufficient and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Experience with DFMEA, DFM, DFA
- Experience in performing tolerance stacks
- Experience dimensioning and applying tolerances to components and assemblies
- Working knowledge of GD&T principles
- Experience with design for manufacturability/assembly (mechanisms, metal stampings, plastic injection molded parts, die cast parts, gears etc)
- Experience with 3D modeling (Pro-E, UG/NX or CATIA V5)
- Experience in designing gears and performing gear calculations
- Experience in formal root cause analysis methodology (Red X or 8D)
- Experience in working with CAE analysis team (FEA, ADAMS, Moldflow etc)
