Controls Engineer, Design & Operations

Stream Data Centers is seeking a Controls Engineer, Design & Operations to drive quality cradle-to-grave lifecycle of data center controls systems/solutions from design through end of life (EOL). The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of communication protocols, PLC programming language, and experience developing and interpreting sequence of operations (SOO).

Requirements

• Assist in the development and delivery of standards and specifications
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders
• Support site operations to troubleshoot operational issues
• Ensure PLC systems are designed to meet the specific requirements of our data centers
• Act as the bridge between design consultants, BMS vendors, and IT departments
• Work with our contractors and vendors to develop intelligent control systems
• Propose strategies to optimize the interplay of electrical and mechanical systems
• Ensure compliance with tenant lease requirements
• With guidance from a Sr Engineer, work projects through concept, schematic, design development, construction documents, construction administration and turn-over
• Lead quality approval, process control, product evaluation, vendor proposals, automated testing support, and software review
• Prepare and issue Request for Proposals (RFP), input award recommendations, manage and administer project/program level contracts
• Learn and apply basic programming and configuration of control systems
• Collaborate and engage with the Commissioning Team
• Drive project schedules while working closely with design and construction to ensure milestones and completion dates are on track
• Travel to datacenter sites for engineering studies, mechanical/electrical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning
• Occasionally, work outside of normal working hours to respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies and site events
