Deputy Undersheriff

Assists the Undersheriff and Sheriff in administering the activities of the Sheriff's Office, develops and formulates departmental policy and procedure, and ensures compliance with state mandates and county directives.

Requirements

• Graduation from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by New York State with a Bachelor’s Degree
• Eight (8) years of experience in corrections or law enforcement in the rank of Warden, Chief or above
• Thorough knowledge of the operation and approved practices of all departments within the Sheriff’s Office
• Good knowledge of management practices of large law enforcement agencies as applied to the analysis and evaluation of programs, policies and operations
• Good knowledge of budget preparation, analysis and administration
