Ulster Community College Association is seeking a Head Teacher to work in the Children’s Center. The Head Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing an appropriate early childhood educational experience, ensuring alignment with the center’s goals and philosophy, and adhering to all guidelines and policies. The role involves creating a safe and stimulating environment, interacting with children, maintaining records, communicating with parents, and supervising assistant teachers.
Requirements
- Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for the children.
- Plan and teach activities which promote the positive emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of each child.
- Maintain records of progress of each child’s growth and development.
- Keep parents informed about classroom activities, projects, events.
- Maintain a professional relationship with other teachers, supervising and assigning roles to assistant as needed on a daily basis.
- Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
- Maintain an understanding of regulations put forth by the Office of Children and Family Services
- Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting children or heavy items (50 pounds), bending, standing for long periods of time, climbing, or walking
