Job Description
Superstate is seeking a Staff/Principal Backend Engineer to build ultra-low latency trading infrastructure for tokenized assets. The role involves designing high-performance systems that bridge traditional HFT techniques with blockchain technology, focusing on optimizing systems for microsecond-level latency. The engineer will lead performance profiling and mentorship.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 9+ years of professional engineering experience
- Expert-level Rust experience with focus on zero-copy operations, lock-free programming, and memory optimization
- Deep experience building ultra-low latency trading systems (HFT/high-frequency trading)
- Deep understanding of network protocols, kernel bypass techniques, and hardware acceleration
- Proven track record optimizing for sub-millisecond latencies in production trading environments
- Experience with CPU pinning and low-level performance tuning
- Familiarity with SQL, query planning and optimization
- Exceptional judgment, strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Market data feed handlers and order management systems
