Job Description
The Harm Reduction Specialist provides engagement and support services focused on drug and alcohol use, sexual health, and self-harm, using a harm reduction model. This role emphasizes respect, non-coercive services, and collaboration with program staff in promoting Community Access' core values. It offers the opportunity to be a leader in harm reduction and improve individual experiences through carefully planned interventions.
Requirements
- Understand and commit to the principles of harm reduction
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- At least two years of experience working within a harm reduction model
- Ability to transfer knowledge and skills in areas such as engagement, harm reduction
- Fingerprinted and cleared by the New York State Justice Center
- Skill in articulating program goals
- Flexible and able to work as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to utilize various computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Initiative and strong follow-through
