Head Boys Basketball Coach – Varsity

The Head Boys Basketball Coach – Varsity is responsible for providing leadership, organization, and supervision for the varsity boys basketball program. This includes planning, instruction, strategy, player development, safety, sportsmanship, supervision of assistant coaches, and full compliance with VHSL and school district rules and policies.

Requirements

• Experience playing and/or coaching basketball at the high school level or higher preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
• Familiarity with VHSL rules, eligibility requirements, and compliance procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or ability to obtain).
• Teaching certification preferred (may vary by school/district).
• Compliance with background checks; school district hiring and VHSL certification requirements.
