Job Description
The Boiler Operator will be responsible for safe operation of the Boiler and related equipment, overseeing the Boiler Utility position, and performing repair, fire watch, and clean up duties as assigned. The worker must be willing to be involved in continuous education as directed by the Boiler Supervisor.
Requirements
- Maintain water level in Boiler
- Maintain steam pressure by monitoring fuel cells, steam load, and dryer gasses
- Continuous monitor of Boiler gauges and readouts
- Continuous communication with Plywood and veneer
- Enter hourly Boiler log readings and necessary reports
- Work alone with little supervision and be self-directed
- Use proper PPE (gloves, eye protection, hearing protection)
- Be aware of and communicate with co-workers at all times
- Read and write during normal operation and safety training
- Shut down Boiler if a problem arises that makes it unsafe
