Job Description
The SQL Server Database Architect will be responsible for mapping and organizing SQL Inventory, creating standards for database design, and consolidating databases into a new data center.
Requirements
- Map and organize SQL Inventory by environment
- Create standards for database design
- Consolidate and optimize databases into a new data center
- Perform capacity planning
- Design physical architecture
- Review configurations, database parameters, and logical data models
- Consult with management regarding application alternatives, performance, security, software usage, capacity planning, and backup procedures
- Work with DBA staff to inventory and document existing databases
- Research optimal configuration and placement of databases into new data center
