Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis

Telesat is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the manager, FP&A team. The role involves analyzing operational results, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The position will work closely with the director of Financial Planning and Systems and collaborate with Treasury team for debt financing negotiations and long-term cash-flow planning.

Requirements

• Assist with all aspects of the long-term planning process and specifically for the two Telesat business segments (Lightspeed and GEO) and the Lenders’ Base Case for Lightspeed.
• Preparation of delta analyses including the identification of the associated business drivers behind any changes to the plan(s) and sensitivity analysis between, and associated with, various iterations of the plan(s)
• Support the Operational Review Meetings that are being introduced to bring all key stakeholders together in a forum that facilities the identification of any barriers to achieving key financial and operational goals and promotes the timely resolution thereof.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly cost centre actual versus budget/forecast reports and expense analysis, including identification of drivers for any variances with possible mitigation initiatives.
• Responsible for collecting and documenting all required SOX documentation support for our budget and planning cycles as well as documenting new processes implemented as part of new projects.
