Associate Professor/Professor & Division Chair, Science and Mathematics

The College of Arts, Sciences, and Education invites qualified candidates to apply for the Associate or Full Professor and Division Chair position in the Science and Mathematics Division. This position is a 12-month, tenured appointment in which tenure on arrival will be granted pending approval from the Texas A&M University System. The Division Chair serves as both an academic administrator and faculty member, providing leadership and management to the division consistent with the university’s mission and goals.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Chemistry, Biology, Math, Physics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated commitment to collaborative leadership and the ability to foster a collegial, supportive, and student-centered academic environment
• Track record of excellence in teaching (including online) various courses in the candidate’s discipline.
• Evidence of an active, ongoing research agenda.
• Demonstrated experience supervising faculty and staff, supporting professional growth, and fostering a collaborative departmental culture.
• Knowledge of state and federal guidelines as they pertain to higher education
