The Crown Estate is seeking a Welsh Forum Member to provide expert insight and advice on the impact of their activities in Wales. The role involves providing understanding of economic, social, cultural, and environmental conditions in Wales, bringing experience of delivering impact through operating in the Welsh policy and legislative context, and informing future The Crown Estate strategy for Wales.
Requirements
- Grounded in Wales
- Deep understanding of Welsh communities, economy, culture, and political landscape
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering positive impact in Wales through professional or community engagement
- Relevant Expertise (one or more areas): Regional development and economic planning in Wales, Social and economic impact and/or experience of Community engagement, Welsh politics and government, Sectors relevant to The Crown Estate's Welsh activities: renewable energy, land management, nature restoration, science & innovation, property and asset management, marine and coastal management.
- Advisory Capability: Experience providing advice in consultative forums, boards, or advisory groups, Systems thinking and understanding of complex stakeholder dynamics, Collaborative approach that values diverse perspectives, Ability to provide objective, balanced, and politically impartial advice
- Values Alignment: Commitment to The Crown Estate's values: caring, together, creative, and impactful
Benefits
- £5,000 per annum annual fee
- 4 meetings per year (2 full-day in-person, 2 shorter meetings with video conferencing available)
- Time commitment: Approximately 6-8 days per year including meeting preparation and high profile networking events.
- Independence Requirements: Absence of significant financial or personal ties to The Crown Estate, Ability to provide objective, balanced, and politically impartial advice, Willingness to declare any potential conflicts via The Crown Estate's Declaration of Interests process
