Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Shop Mechanic

60 year old site and utility contractor in Tampa is now hiring a shop mechanic for our maintenance and repair team.

Requirements

• Must be able to frequently lift 50 lbs or more
• Must be able to walk, stand and climb frequently throughout the day
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with preventive maintenance and timely repair of equipment that breaks down
• Complete all service reports and submit on timely basis
• Perform cleanup at end of day or when job is completed, including cleaning tools and putting tools in proper storage
• Proactively communicate with Equipment Manager concerning equipment and job-related projects
• Inspect and ensure safety devices are functional – such as back up alarms, fire extinguishers, seat belts, horns, etc.
• Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment
• Work more than 40 hours per week and overtime including some weekends
• Looking for a self-driven individual
• Possesses their own tools
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a mechanic.
• Experience working with Komatsu, John Deere, and Cat equipment
• Experience with a variety of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and backhoes.
• Be able to trouble shoot and repair electrical problems
• Be familiar with and able to work on emissions, such as DPF and DEF system.
