Mount Vernon School is seeking a Director of Academic Resource Services to serve as a strategic leader and educational consultant, partnering with students, families, and faculty to design and deliver inclusive, research-based academic supports across Preschool–Grade 12.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, Curriculum & Instruction, Human Development, Educational Leadership, or a related field, with classroom experience and appropriate teaching certification preferred.
- 5+ years experience in academic resource support
- Demonstrated PK–12 experience supporting students with learning differences, including expertise in psychoeducational evaluations, instructional interventions, academic and standardized testing accommodations, and connecting families with outside providers
- Proven leadership experience managing and coaching teams, and leading or coordinating Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and related student-support frameworks
- Strong instructional and professional learning expertise, including facilitation of faculty professional development, parent education, and application of evidence-based practices such as executive functioning supports, assistive technology, and Orton-Gillingham literacy approaches
- Operational and compliance proficiency, including experience in independent school environments, admissions collaboration, state and federal program compliance, grant administration, and strong organizational, data-management, and cross-divisional communication skills
