The Director of Student Success Advising is responsible for providing leadership and management to the Academic Advising unit at Eugene Lang College. The role involves supervising staff, providing academic advising to students, and contributing to unit and university-wide initiatives. The Director will also be responsible for budget oversight, hiring, and performance feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 8-10 years related experience with a focus on student engagement and advising.
- 5+ years of experience supervising or co-supervising individuals.
- Superior student services skills.
- Experience developing and/or implementing policy as pertains to student status at a college or university.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, including sensitivity to cultural differences.
- Proven abilities in personal judgment and critical thinking skills to help others make values-based decisions regarding academic, career, and other success paths.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new computer applications.
- Able to lift and carry objects, less than 40 pounds, on occasion.
