Summer Intern, Media Relations

The Office of Media Relations at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey offers a summer internship program for students pursuing a career in communications, journalism, or public relations. The internship provides hands-on experience in drafting media communications, staffing media events, and writing stories about Port Authority projects and initiatives.

Requirements

• Collaborate with agency staff to research and draft blog posts, press releases, and other written materials
• Visit facilities and attend meetings to learn about the agency and its departments
• Respond to emails or calls from media outlets in a timely manner
• Compile daily press stories involving the agency
• Assist with administrative tasks to support staff
• Assist with pitching stories or media events to reporters
