The Ice Sports Coach at PSM Ice House is responsible for coaching and developing athletes in various ice sports, such as hockey, figure skating, or speed skating. This role involves designing and implementing training programs, providing instruction and feedback, and fostering a positive and competitive environment for athletes.
Requirements
- Coaching licenses (or active pursuit of) preferred
- Proven experience as a coach or in a related role, with a strong background in the specific ice sport (hockey, figure skating, speed skating, etc.)
- Ability to demonstrate and participate in on-ice activities
- At least 2 years of appropriate coaching/teaching sport in youth programs for athletes of various aptitudes
- Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
- Must be a team player
- Must have excellent leadership and motivational skills
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, predominately after-school and weekends
- Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications, or willingness to obtain within a specified period
- Neat in appearance and professional in manner
- Strong knowledge of sports coach rules, techniques, and strategies
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Passion for sports and athlete development
