Our firm is seeking an experienced Hearing Representative with a strong background in California Workers’ Compensation Law. This role involves representing clients at hearings, conferences, and trials before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
Requirements
- Represent clients in hearings, trials, status conferences, lien conferences, and mandatory settlement conferences at WCAB.
- Prepare exhibits, documents, settlement demands, and trial briefs.
- Negotiate settlements, including Stipulations, Compromise and Releases (C&Rs), and vocational rehabilitation claims.
- Review and analyze medical reports, deposition transcripts, subpoenaed records, and case files to determine case value and appropriate legal strategy.
- Maintain case status and documentation in the case management system.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, medical providers, lien claimants, and adjusters.
- Appear before various WCAB district offices as needed, often traveling regionally.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical obligations under state bar rules and workers' comp regulations.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation and support in complex cases, when applicable.
