Job Description
As a Senior Data Engineer at Thndr, you'll build and scale our data infrastructure, partner with stakeholders, design robust data pipelines, and help create a unified semantic layer.
Requirements
- BS/BE/MS degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of industry experience in Data Engineering
- Solid understanding algorithms & data structures
- Strong programming skills in Python and Java or Scala
- Good knowledge of Extract Transform and Load/Extract, Load and Transform and reporting/analytic tools
- Experience with data warehouses, technical architectures, and cloud data infrastructure components
- Experience with infrastructure as code, kubernetes and containerization
- Good knowledge of SQL and experience with at least 1 relational database, 1 document database, 1 key value store, 1 message queuing system and 1 scalable cloud-based OLAP system
- Good understanding of distributed systems theory
- Good understanding of dimensional modeling is a plus
- Experience with headless BI and Semantic Modeling is a plus
- Exposure to modern modeling frameworks & technologies is a plus (dbt, Dataform, SQLMesh)
