The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Community Development Director to join our Community Development Department! This position is responsible for directing the Community Development Department, including long-range and current planning, building plan review and inspections, land development code, and coordinating with referral agencies on development applications.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Urban Design, or a closely related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Degree in city planning or closely related field, and experience in all phases of city planning and technical experience in zoning administration.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of four years’ experience working as a Planner
- Minimum of three years supervisory experience in a government agency with issues related to land development, construction, site and or building design evaluation.
- Computer skills required.
- Extensive prior management experience in all phases of long-range and current planning and the building code enforcement and inspection process.
- Understanding the planning and construction process for complex multi-use projects.
- Extensive experience in managing long-range planning and policy projects with significant public processes.
- Ability to manage changing public demands while balancing against code and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to create and manage a cohesive multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to facilitate ongoing redevelopment in Town ensuring that all codes are complied with while considering the community’s interests.
- Ability to manage complex development review applications.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
