Farm Site and Farm Store Assistant - Temp

Gardening the Community (GTC) is seeking a Farm Site and Farm Store Assistant to support the daily operations of the farm sites and farm store in Springfield, MA. The ideal candidate will have experience working on a farm, be detail-oriented, and have a passion for local food, food access, and sustainable agriculture.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one season work experience on a farm
• Ability to work efficiently and independently
• Proactive working style and self-accountability
• Ability to work Saturdays and occasional Sundays
• Bilingual, preferred
• Knowledgeable about GTC
• Interest in issues relating to local food, food access, and sustainable agriculture
• Retail experience, preferred
• Highly detailed oriented
• Experience in NEON CRM or other database management
• Knowledgeable of Food Justice and Food Access issues and solutions
• Experience working in an urban farm or garden setting (with GTC or other similar organization)
• Lived experience with food insecurity, preferred
