Lead Electronics Engineer

Lead Electronics Engineer responsible for leading, designing and delivering power solution projects, mentoring junior / senior engineers, and developing new business opportunities. The role involves technical ownership of development of allocated power conversion and power management products and technologies, and coaching and mentoring of junior staff.

Requirements

• Relevant power converter and / or power management design experience
• Good knowledge of multiple topologies and understanding of selection criteria
• Schematic Capture Experience
• Production level Military, Automotive or Aerospace PCB design experience (Altium Designer experience preferred)
• Higher National Diploma or Degree in Electronics or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Eligibility for security clearance to the required level
• Previous experience of working in an engineering business
• Previous experience in designing power and control products
• Awareness of concept development and requirements capture
• Experience of technical document preparation including hardware description documents, test strategies and procedures
• Experience of the product development lifecycle from ‘cradle to grave'
• High level of self-motivation and an ability to work autonomously without high levels of supervision
• Excellent Communication skills, able (and willing) to articulate ideas and plans clearly to personnel at all levels within the organisation
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to consider the diverse views of others
• Dedicated and hard-working with the drive and resilience needed to overcome obstacles and succeed
• Desirable Skills and Experience: Capture/Tracking Tool Experience, VHDL experience (Top Level), Quality Engineering/Processes, Awareness of Defence and Military Standards processes such as DO-254, Experience of having worked on grant funded R&D projects, Familiarity with safety critical software development and the programming of FPGAs
