Senior Environmental Scientist - UMIAQ Environmental

UMIAQ Environmental is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to lead and perform advanced environmental consulting and engineering services. The position involves planning and conducting environmental site assessments, managing field operations, interpreting data, preparing technical reports, and ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Provide comprehensive environmental consulting and/or engineering services
• Perform Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments
• Define scopes of service, prepare budgets, and develop proposals
• Review, evaluate, and interpret environmental data; prepare accurate and concise summary reports
• Sample soil, groundwater, and other environmental media at contaminated sites in accordance with regulatory standards
• Manage hazardous waste and hazardous materials in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Apply environmental remediation technologies and support remediation projects
• Prepare Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs)
• Perform and lead spill response activities, including in rural Alaska
• Plan and coordinate logistics for remote field work, including travel arrangements and equipment needs
• Support business development and marketing activities, including cost proposals and presentations to clients
• Interact and communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels
