U. S. Steel has an immediate opening for a Process Control Engineer within the Process Control Steelmaking organization. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing process control hardware and software solutions in a heavy industrial environment.
Requirements
- Optimize and improve industrial plant process control solutions to meet business requirements
- Translate business requirements into industrial application solutions
- Design, develop, and implement control logic and automation sequences using Siemens SIMATIC S7 / TIA Portal, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix platforms
- Configure and tune Siemens SINAMICS / SIMOTION, Rockwell / Allen-Bradley drives for various mill equipment
- Participate in FAT, SAT, and site commissioning for PLC and drive systems
- Develop and maintain documentation including I/O lists, logic diagrams, and functional design specifications
- Interface PLC systems with HMIs, SCADA, and higher-level automation systems
- Support troubleshooting, fault analysis, and optimization during system startup and early production
- Ensure system safety and reliability by implementing robust interlocks and emergency controls
- Ensure adherence to US Steel Principles, Change Management and Ongoing Continuance Improvement Programming
