Pneumatic Tube Mech-Hospital Maintenance

The Pneumatic Tube Mechanic-Hospital Maintenance position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on the pneumatic tube system equipment and related instrumentation that supports hospital operations. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and three years of related experience, as well as strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

Requirements

• Interprets schematic and ladder diagrams and uses standard electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems to plan, build, and assemble equipment and devices.
• Communicates with hospital staff to understand needs and resolve tube system issues.
• Assists with repairing and rebuilding pneumatic tube stations and transfers units, including replacing motors, side plates, controls, seals, and electronics.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues using schematic or ladder diagrams and software tools.
• Tracks carrier movement through the system using software tools and adjusts routing as needed.
• Attends safety meetings and other departmental meetings/training.
