The University of Guelph invites applications for a tenure-track position in the School of Engineering at the Assistant Professor level. The position is in the area of Environmental or Water Resources Engineering, with a focus on waterborne pathogen fate and transport in terrestrial water systems.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in engineering
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrogeology, Environmental Sciences, or related field
- Registration as Professional Engineers in Canada or eligibility for registration as Professional Engineers (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario
- Expertise in field-based methods for investigating pathogen/AMR transport through the vadose zone into the groundwater
- Temporal and spatial variability of pathogens/AMRs through unsaturated and saturated zones
- Microbial risk assessment
- Climate change impacts on waterborne disease transmission through connected groundwater systems from recharge through soils and vadose discharge to well and surface water
