UW Health is seeking a Specimen Control and Receiving Tech – Clinical Labs to assist in the receipt, processing, and distribution of specimens and research kits. This role involves performing routine laboratory tasks, interacting with various healthcare professionals, and contributing to the smooth operation of the laboratory. Requirements
- Receive specimens and research kits into the laboratory
- Check for correct labeling
- Enter tests into Laboratory Information System
- Process specimens
- Load specimens onto instruments or direct to work station
- Technologist, or storage area
- Basic instrument maintenance
- Filing and mailing
- Faxing
- Interaction with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients
