Principal Data Engineer

V2 AI is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of modern data platforms at scale, with a strong focus on Databricks and lakehouse architecture. The successful candidate will drive the development of Databricks-based lakehouse architectures, build robust data pipelines, scalable data products, and cloud-native data platforms that power advanced analytics and AI.

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing and delivering modern data platforms and data engineering solutions at a Principal or Lead level
• Deep expertise with Databricks, Spark, and lakehouse architecture
• Strong experience building scalable data pipelines and distributed data processing systems
• Experience with data platform technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, and modern cloud data ecosystems
• Strong cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP
• Deep understanding of data modelling, data governance, and scalable data architectures
• Experience integrating data platforms with AI/ML and analytics workloads
• Skilled at defining technical strategy, setting engineering standards, and driving best practices across teams
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions across multiple projects
