Job Description
Vast is a private space exploration company dedicated to building artificial gravity space stations. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Structures to support the development of their artificial gravity human-rated space station systems. The role involves designing and developing mechanical components, leading trades, and working with fabrication partners. Vast is a growing company committed to serving the needs of the human space exploration community.
Requirements
- Own design of primary and secondary structures on a large scale space station.
- Develop understanding of static and dynamic loads, vibrations, thermal and other environmental considerations.
- Perform mechanical design and analysis, develop manufacturing drawings, test plans, concept of operations, and follow hardware through the entire process.
- Lead trades and own interfaces with sub systems.
- Work with fabricators and technicians to improve designs, develop processes, and resolve issues.
