Job Description
VGW is an interactive entertainment company seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead engineering teams in designing, building, and delivering trusted, high-impact data products.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or 5+ years of equivalent practical experience
- Proficient in SQL and Python
- Strong hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases
- Skilled in building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines and working with semi-structured data
- Proficient in cloud-native DataOps practices (IaC, CI/CD, Git)
- Experience with Databricks/Spark or Snowflake
- Practical experience with AWS compute, networking, and storage services
- Experience with AWS data services such as EMR, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue
- Experience with data modelling and warehousing (Dimensional, Data Vault 2.0) and working in a data lake environment
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
- Exposure to large-scale data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Spark Streaming)
- AWS Associate-level certifications are desirable
