Mold Maker

Mold Maker position at Viant, responsible for creating new injection molds and performing repairs/modifications on existing molds using various tool room equipment. The role involves planning and scheduling mold-making projects, collaborating with the team, and ensuring high standards for product quality, safety, and cleanliness.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent
• Completion of a four-year state certified mold making apprenticeship program or Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree
• 5+ years of mold making experience
• 5+ years of tool room experience
• Technical experience with troubleshooting injection molding related issues
• Strong technical/mechanical aptitude
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Basic mold tool design theory and a working knowledge of mold materials processing
• Excellent math skills
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to use pneumatic and power tools
• Thorough knowledge of inspection equipment and techniques
• Computer skills
• Knowledge of Makino CNC and Charmilles Wire EDM
• Efficient at programming and running shop machinery
• CNC programming skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Speak, read, and write English to be easily understood
