Job Description
The Tool and Die Maker supports the Viega Machine Shop's mission of producing precision tooling that supports our manufacturing operations.
Requirements
- Translate blueprints, sketches, specifications and CAD/CAM files to the production of precision tools & dies.
- Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces.
- Ability to set up, operate, and conversationally program conventional, manual, and computer-numeric controlled (CNC) machines and equipment.
- File, grind and adjust parts so that they fit together properly.
- Quality check completed tools and dies to ensure that they meet specifications.
- Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and dies.
- Works cooperatively with a wide variety of Viega departments and outside vendors.
- Preparing raw materials and tools prior to machining, cutting or deburring.
- Attend meetings as required and/or assigned.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
