Cost Accountant role responsible for production variance analysis, month end processes, and forecasting, with opportunity to assist with special projects. Must have BS Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience, and 2-5 years experience in Cost Accounting or accounting functions.
Requirements
- Research monthly manufacturing and inventory variances, providing root cause analysis for discrepancies
- Create and maintain reporting for inventory and absorption for month end, forecast and budget
- Engage with purchasing and production teams to review manufacturing variances to determine if standard cost changes are needed
- Review Tariff and Freight variances and provide recommendations for possible standard cost changes needed
- Assist in the monthly hedge accounting entries and review
- Create journal entries and provide analysis for month-end closing process as needed
- Maintain month end reconciliations as needed
- Cross department collaboration on new item set ups
- Yearly standard cost update in SAP and as needed throughout year
- Assist in the creation and management of annual budget for assigned areas
- Assist in year-end audit as needed
