Provides protection to Reynolda House Museum of American Art as well as guests and staff from criminal activity, fire, safety hazards or other dangerous situations.
Requirements
- Maintains knowledge of current policies and procedures to protect the collection, staff, and visitors to Reynolda.
- Actively monitors all building areas to ensure the safety / security of the collection, staff, and guests.
- Detects problems and reports information to appropriate personnel via the chain of command.
- Protects the collection from unauthorized tampering, handling, defacing, touching or theft.
- Responds to fire alarms, intrusion alarms, and panic alarms.
- Responds to medical emergencies; administers aid as required.
- Receives reports of and responds to, security issues, safety issues, and incidents. Investigates and completes detailed incident reports on various situations as they arise.
- Responds appropriately to guest conflicts as the first level of conflict management.
- Regulates and controls traffic through gallery spaces during regular museum operations and special events.
- Assists in the evacuation of the museum in the event of an emergency that threatens life or property in accordance with current emergency procedures; ensures security of the area.
- Conducts opening and closing building inspections.
