Job Description
Wave Photonics is building a platform to accelerate the development and adoption of integrated photonics technologies. They are seeking a highly motivated PIC Design Engineer to design, simulate, tape-out, and characterize photonic components and circuit designs. The role involves working on concept to validation, informing roadmaps, and collaborating with a team focused on unlocking the potential of integrated photonics.
Requirements
- Masters or PhD in integrated photonics, electrical engineering, physics or related discipline
- Strong hands-on experience modelling integrated photonics devices
- Experience with PIC design, layout and tape-out on silicon/silicon nitride, TFLN, III-V or related platforms
- Proficiency in Python / MATLAB / Julia for analysis and automation
- Proficiency with photonic simulation & layout tools (e.g., Ansys/Lumerical MODE/DEVICE/INTERCONNECT, Synopsys OptoDesigner, Luceda IPKISS, COMSOL, Tidy3D, GDSFactory, KLayout or equivalent)
- Knowledge of photonics packaging, fibre coupling and thermal management (nice to have)
