Sr. Ontologist

WebMD Ignite is seeking a Senior Ontologist to create and manage the enterprise schemas and information models for their foundational taxonomies. The role involves integrating taxonomic elements into search, internal API endpoints, and AI tools, managing the taxonomy management software, and supporting patients through the healthcare journey. This position requires collaboration with various teams, including product managers, UX designers, and software engineers, and focuses on data extraction, transformation, and integration.

Requirements

• Creates, manages, and governs the enterprise schemas for WebMD Ignite taxonomies and ontologies.
• Partners with software engineers and product managers to integrate information models.
• Ensures information structure support for current and future products.
• Tests and implements information structures in user interfaces.
• Acts as a power user and backup administrator for the taxonomy and ontology management system.
• Works with system administrators and KE team members to coordinate software updates.
• Works with engineering teams to integrate ontology and update data.
• Trains and mentors KE team members.
• Manages taxonomy/ontology engineering and information modeling.
