Occupational Therapist

Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Helps patients improve their basic motor functions and reasoning abilities, and provides input in formulating budget.

Requirements

• Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology.
• Knowledge of physical and occupational therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same.
• Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation.
• Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning;
• Observes and evaluates treatment effect.
• Recommends change to physician, if needed.
• Regulatory Requirements:
• A master's degree or higher in occupational therapy.
• Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of ND.
• Certification from the National Board for Certifying Occupational Therapy preferred.
• One (1) or more years of previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy.
• Current BCLS certification.
