Job Description
Responsible for daily charge-entry production for hospital Observation Unit, Emergency Department, Outpatient Injections/Infusions and ambulatory care.
Requirements
- Generates list of daily patients to identify observation, outpatient and emergency room accounts to assign charges.
- Reviews each record to appropriately apply CPT and NCCI guidelines when adding charges to accounts.
- Educates departments on documentation requirements to improve charging accuracy.
- Reviews records and posts charges in a timely basis.
- Assists the Business Office in identifying and resolving missing charges on observation, outpatient and emergency room accounts.
- Records Observation and ambulatory post surgical times to log for Finance for Cost reporting purposes.
- Maintains confidentiality and security of patient information...
- Maintains a good working relationship within the Department and other departments.
- Willing to accept additional assignments.
