Data Scientist Team Lead

Based in Portugal, Wire IT is a specialized IT consulting partner with 18 years of experience driven by an experienced and senior team that helps clients make the right decisions in a fast-moving market. We're looking for a Data Scientist Team Lead with a strong command of traditional Machine Learning techniques, experience managing teams, and knowledge of Generative AI solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or similar fields.
• More than 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
• Proven experience managing teams in this area.
• Proven experience in developing Generative AI solutions, including the use of transformers, embeddings, and knowledge of prompt engineering.
• Strong command of traditional Machine Learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning.
• Fluency in Python and libraries such as numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn.
• Experience with PySpark and handling large volumes of data.
• Practical knowledge of MLOps: model versioning, experiment tracking (e.g., MLflow), deployment, and monitoring.
• Experience in cloud environments, namely: Azure (e.g., Azure Machine Learning, Data Factory), GCP (e.g., Vertex AI, BigQuery), AWS (e.g., SageMaker, S3)
