Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and providing excellent customer service. They will work with various vehicle systems, use diagnostic tools and equipment, and maintain accurate records of services performed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Formal training from an automotive technology program (preferred)
- Previous experience as an automotive technician or mechanic (highly beneficial)
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification (often required or preferred)
- Manufacturer-specific certifications (often required or encouraged)
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle systems
- Ability to use diagnostic machines, hand tools, and other repair equipment
- Precision in diagnosing and repairing vehicle problems accurately
- Ability to work with tools and components in tight spaces
- Ability to explain technical issues to customers in simple terms
- Ability to record and provide video updates to customers to demonstrate diagnostics and progress of work
