We are seeking a Senior Professional Industrial Water Treatment Engineer to work out of our Lakewood, Colorado office. The ideal candidate will manage clients, projects, and staff involved in a variety of industrial and mine water treatment projects, and will provide engineering skills in process development and detailed design projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental or Chemical Engineering, with a focus in Water Treatment or closely related discipline.
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- 7+ years of relevant post education experience in a design or consulting engineering firm working on industrial and mining water treatment projects.
- Strong engineering skills in process development and detailed design projects.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Self-starter with strong written and verbal skills
- Manage engineering teams on small and large complex projects
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word along with graphics software necessary for the conceptual design of Industrial wastewater systems.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing intricate ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Highly capable self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with clients, regulators, project managers, and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, math principles, predictive models, and tools.
- Developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
- Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
